Antek Cholewinski (who is an academically educated composer and cellist) on the new Pawlacz Perski release under the clickbait and post-humanist title „Kotek” (polish for Kitten), expresses his fascination with speech synthesizers. The author gives them poetry to recite, and with the help of music he builds invisible scenery. Melancholy, restlessness, decadence. Lonely voices in an empty room filled with futuristic furniture on the 30th floor of a skyscraper. Electronic actors seem to be soaked up with the atmosphere of Antek’s artistic vision, as in some synthetic Stanisławski system. And suddenly this short but irresistible feeling that we are one-to-one with someone alive. A longing for something never experienced is vibrating in the seemingly impassive flat tone of the voice. Alongside Antek, the evening will be exploring the possibilities of uncanny narratives in other machine-related heartbreaks and brasilian funk, brought to you by 3 talented DJs: Cartopol, Helldegard and Zoyo.

Expo opening night at Outsiderland Gallery
‘I don’t think I’ll stay here long’ tells the stories of women who fled Ukraine due to the Russian invasion in February 2022, and are currently hosted by families across the Netherlands. In a three-channel installation, actress Ewa (Yarasolva Krutova) performs a series of monologues on behalf of these women, detailing their efforts to find common ground and learn how to live alongside strangers in spite of their cultural differences. The project brings together complex narratives about loneliness and togetherness; kindness and cultural clichés; humour and sorrow; but also the hope to call a place home again.
‘I don’t think I’ll stay here long’ is a collaboration between actress and performance artist Ewa (Yaroslava Krutova) who arrived in the Netherlands from Ukraine in March 2022, and lens-based artist Jana Romanova who came to the Netherlands from Russia in 2019.
The project is produced and presented at Outsiderland, with informational support from
FOTODOK. It’s the second of two joint exhibitions, the first one being ‘Part of Me’, on show until november 20 at Fotodok in Utrecht.

Abel presenteert deze avond voor het eerst zijn debuutalbum “Lege Zaal” in Amsterdam! Op het album, dat eerder dit jaar verscheen, brengt hij zijn leven op authentieke wijze in kaart. Zijn eerlijke teksten op eigen producties vormen een kwetsbaar maar krachtig geheel over liefde, verandering en volwassen worden. De sound valt het best te omschrijven als alternative, jazzy hiphop. Tijdens deze avond wordt Abel muzikaal ondersteund door een DJ, gitarist en toetsenist. Vocale gastbijdrages zullen komen van Ray Fuego, Lennycan en Joël. Supportact van de avond is J.A.D.E.
